Snorkel does stick off the body a little, the 4 bolt wholes are impossible to do with the template, deffently drill them out a little bigger and use washers, the best way I found to put the piece onto the intake box was a lot of silicone and rivets, need to cut a whole right below the airbox, my hose is held in by zip ties because theres no other way
Deffently got what I payed for, not bad for the money, good dealer to work with, responds fast and is helpfull

Tried to get started installing mine today and after getting my butt handed to me on most of the other projects all day... this was no different. Not getting any sort of instructions is bad... but at least there is the internet to try and help. The template I got with my kit is either for something else or it was made all wrong. There is no hole like what is shown in the OPs initial picture of an XJ snorkel. and its not even really boomerang shaped... only good thing is that the 4 main bolt holes look to be in the right spot.
Trying to guess where this thing is supposed to mount sucks hairy ones! Nothing like standing there with a hole saw wondering if your even close or if your about to make a big stinkin' hole in a nice fender that won't be covered by the snorkel. But the only way to get the rest of it even close to lined up is to start by making that huge hole! Thankfully my biggest hole saw bit was to small so I will have to wait until tomorrow to start again.
Another gripe is the bracket that holds the upper part of the snorkel to the A pillar. Would it be to much to ask to have that bracket be shaped a little convex? A flat plate drilled into a rounded A pillar doesn't make for a very good fit. And since I'm working blind I'll have to just hope I get it right! And they couldn't even include some sort of gasket to go between the bracket and the A pillar? Boo!
So after today I'm rating this thing as a D+. I can't complain about the material of the snorkel tube or its head... but honestly, that's about what your buying with your money. All the rest of it will require you to modify and molest in order to get it all together. After I get it on tomorrow I may raise my grade on it but so far I'm less than thrilled.

Where (specifically) are these manufactured? What are the conditions of the plant? How are the people at the plant treated? What is the background of the company?

That said... If you are actually interested in improving what you sell I have a couple suggestions.
1- Provide at least some sort of installation instructions, printed in multiple languages and including pictures.
2-Provide a better bracket that attaches to the A pillar. The one supplied is basically flat...not really something that mounts to a rounded surface very easily. And perhaps a simple rubber gasket to go between that bracket and the A pillar would help keep water from getting into the Jeep.?.
3-The way in which the snorkel ties into the factory air box is not the most fantastic way in my opinion. Though I doubt you could do much different without re-engineering the desing a bit or including different parts. That would add cost so I understand. But trying to make the tight turns to attach to the air box is not easy and seems a little convoluted. I would suggest that instead of having the 90* turn molded into the bottom of the snorkel, why not keep it straight and allow it to run directly into the engine area that way? I plan to cut the 90* off my kit and will try and show you what I mean when I'm done.
4-The last thing I have is more of a quality control issue. I don't know how many others have this same problem but the template that came with my kit is wrong. The four main holes are spaced correctly but it doesn't show where the large main hole is to be drilled in the fender. Maybe I just got a fluke template... not sure. But I'll take a picture and show you what I have when I get time. I've also heard that the flex tubes don't fit very well onto the hard plastic parts... I haven't gotten that far on mine yet so I can't comment. I'll address that if I have an issue with it as well.
All in all I do not regret buying this kit. I feel the main component, the snorkel tube itself (and the head) are essentially what I was paying for and they are fine. I'd buy another kit any day at the price. Are there ways to make it a better value for your customers, yes! They say the "Devil is in the details"... and that seems to be where this kit has problems. Listen to your customers and their feedback. Try and get the factory to fix these things and then you'll have happy customers spending repeat money. And everybody wins.

Just wanted to say I'm still very satisfied with this snorkel! No issues so far and it's been on since March! I am going to be sanding it and bed lining it. I was wondering if anyone has done this. What type of sandpaper did you use to get the Chinese letters off? Then did you just apply bed liner to it?
