does this wrench ever need to be recalibrated or anything?

In regards to re-calibration - all torque wrenches need to be re-calibrated at some point in time. The only exception to this is the traditional Beam Style Wrenches - since you can see if the pointer is still at zero (and if it is not, you can just bend it back into position). The biggest issue with most torque wrenches (the "click" style) is that if you forget to turn the torque wrench down to its lowest setting after use, the spring will deform -and the wrench loses accuracy. This is the single biggest reason why torque wrenches become out of calibration. Our digital wrench is actually based on the traditional beam technology - so there is no need to turn the wrench down after use - and it holds its calibration very well.

However, it will at some point still need to be re-calibrated. How often is a tricky thing - since it depends on your needs / uses. Obviously, a person who is using their wrench to assemble aircraft engines will want it re-calibrated more often than someone who is using it to tighten lug-nuts on their car every few months. In general, we would recommend having it re-calibrated after 3K uses. We have a calibration facility in Chicago.

Our warranty is industry standard: 1 year from date of purchase, 90 days for calibration. We have a repair/calibration facility located in Chicago in case anything ever does need to be done to the wrench.

We are planning on adding this information to our website next time we do an update. The warranty information is included with the product.

Perfect. I'll be picking one of these up shortly!

huntingman2706217 01-30-2012 05:47 PM

i may get one as well... i used my craftsman click style this weekend and realized it went to 100 when i needed 110 for head bolts... bought a cheap rod style some time ago and had to use it... kind of a pain to torque and read the little dashes and numbers at the same time... lol...

Anyone have this?

MD_Jeep 02-12-2012 07:25 PM

Yes. Have had it for about 2 Weeks and already used it a couple times. Really good quality and great price.

rklettke 02-13-2012 12:20 AM

I'm ordering mine tomorrow :) I don't like the idea of "if it doesn't move anymore than it's torqued" lol

My girlfriend bought this for me, and it is awesome! The length on it is great and makes any torque easy especially without having to look at the gauge

XJeepWerks 06-11-2012 11:30 PM

I hope this special will be good for several weeks so I have time to save for it. I really want one of these bad boys.

You should be good for that time frame. We plan on running it for at least a month.

Unfortunately, shipping to Canada is not cheap. We ship it via the USPS, and the cost is $125. The extra cost is strictly the shipping. It costs $36 to ship it to Canada, and we factor in $10 within the US. The extra $26 is what bumps it up to $125. This does not include any taxes, duties, or fees that the Canadian government might impose.

If/when you are interested, let me know and I will arrange it for you.

Got mine in the mail today. Just unboxing it I'm rather impressed with the attention to detail that was put into the production of this tool. The tool itself feels very solid as does the case. There are rubber bumpers on the lid of the case that hold the wrench nice and tight when it is closed. To me, this shows that Blownline Industries really tried to cover everything when designing their product. Playing with it on my kitchen table I only found one thing I didn't like about it, which overall isn't a big deal. The only thing so far I do not like about this tool is the fact that you cannot hold the up or down arrows to quickly scroll through the torque values; you have to press the button for every 0.5lb increment. This will become cumbersome when trying to torque several different fasteners at once. Other than that I'm very impressed with the tool and look forward to trying it out tonight in the shop.

blmw 06-30-2012 10:44 PM

Get one while you can!!
