Default 2.5 idle issue

Hi guys, I got my hands on a 1986 XLS 2.5 TBI 4x4. When i bought it didnt start, it needed a fuel pump. I got it started but when it first starts it'll idle real low and spuder then if I give it some gas it'll come to life but idle a little high. To be honest Im no expect with these TBI injected vechicles. Thank you

How are the plugs, wires, cap and rotor?

Check to see if you have a loose intake manifold.

Also check these hoses:

ok Thank you for the reply. Ill check the manifold tomorrow after work. Plugs and wires could be changed i was planning on changing those tomorrow as well. But do these have any type of fuel regulator? And if so where is it?

Fuel pressure regulators are rarely, if ever, an issue.

What leads you to think that's a problem?

To be honest I'm just trying to cover the basics.

The fuel pressure regulator is built into the TBI.
