Cherokee braking itself when shifted to 8th gear
I have a 2015 Cherokee sport with the 9 transmissions. I recently started fidgeting with the manual shift at low speeds due to the roads at Utah and everything seemed fine. Until recently, when I was at the freeway, I thought of going for the highest gear and at 75 MPH, I went till 7th and shifted to the 8th. I suddenly heard beeping sounds, the brake lights coming up on the dash with the brakes getting applied automatically and the car slowing down very rapidly. Luckily I tried this on a deserted stretch with no cars behind me. I wanted to know if this was expected or how I could have avoided this.

You'd probably get a lot more info in this section

There has been one or two reports of bad transmissions and electric gremlins with these new Cherokees.
