Default New Guy - '94 Country XJ - Flint, MI

Hey Cherokee Community,

I'm Cody. I live near Flint, Michigan. I'm a car nut, and I have a collecting problem.

Because of that, I find myself in an XJ for the first time and I'm thoroughly loving it.

This is my $1000 1994 Cherokee Country 4x4. All stock, 130k miles, saggy and wallowy suspension, but a clean and complete interior, all systems working flawlessly (heat, A/C, 4x4, low range), and a leaky rear main seal.

The forum here seems to be ripe with any information I could possibly need!

Plans with this one? Tow/haul vehicle, light trail duty, snow dominator...

Gladly, I don't live within Flint's borders! Well water where I live.

Thanks! It's a pretty great thing so far. It's the same here in Michigan. This car wasn't listed in the papers, on CL, online anywhere... Lucky roadside find!

This weekend I added an RT Offroad valve cover with new reinforced gasket, and a Spectre CAI. I know it's just for sound, and I realize I forgot to install the heat shield. I will remedy that shortly.

Also got some older production BFG Winter Slalom KSi tires mounted and balanced. Brand new, just older production. Wonderful tread pattern, and so much more grip in my driveway and muddy neighborhood. Looking forward to some snow!

Getting some idea what it will cost to have the floorboard and rockers repaired, and then have the whole underside undercoated. I'd like it to last a long time. Winter in Michigan is not friendly.

Soundclip here, nice and stock + CAI:

Undercoating is fine and all, but watch for water collecting on your floors. Most XJ floor pans rust from the inside down due to water getting in the passenger compartment.
