New Dude From McPherson
Hey all!
I just purchased my FIRST Jeep EVER!!! Long story short, I owned a Honda, there was a flood in Florida while I was working in a private car collection. I had to bum rides until today here in Kansas. Im a student at McPherson College (yes, I am taking the degree to restore classic cars) in my last year at this school. Hit the Craigslist looking for a good vehicle, started looking into Jeeps, and I picked up this 100% original '84 Cherokee XJ 2-door with 128K miles on it. She's got a 5-speed with 4wd. She's a tank! Cute little 4cyl tugs hard and sips gas. ANYWAYS- I am glad to see Jeep has such a family-like community. Glad to be a Jeep owner now! My Jeep feels like a tank, glad to be in a properly manufactured vehicle!

Thank you for the warm welcome!
I'll post up some photos this afternoon after restoration classes. I have a buddy here with an '86 FJ 60 he's done a conservative 3 inch lift on and I think id like to do the same. Id like to do a lift, throw some newer cherokee wheels (maybe go 30" or 31") on it, fab up some round stock half doors, rock sliders, and an aluminum square stock roof "safari" rack. I bought the car for practicality (I can load all of my college stuff in her and drive across country in whatever weather at whatever time I need). I'd like to take my jeep project a step at a time, and do it right.
I feel like I just found the big family I've been missing my entire driving career!
