I realized I never posted the links for the parking brake cables (big david sent me this a while back)
http://www.morris4x4center.com/rough...25-dbc-07.html
I am having an issue where my drivers side cable (the short one) is about 1-2" longer than the passenger side cable, and the parking brake equalizer wants to only engage the drivers side parking brake unless I adjust it to be super tight. Luckily the parking brakes are brand new so it holds the Jeep just fine, but I want to get it perfect.
I am going to try and see if there is a way to take up the slack with some washers or a spacer of some sort, ill report back if I figure out that one.
Those splash guards are mainly to keep water from spraying onto the brakes while driving, not critical but nice to have.

However, you can see the url is basically listed twice here, so I just took the second half and that works fine.
I was able to source some OEM ZJ brake cables for very cheap, so I am going to try and see if I can make something work with what I have. Otherwise I'll look at these.
Additionally, I wanted to pose this question. Since I have to re-make the hard brake lines for the rear and I plan to install a 3" lift, should I make the hard lines extra long so I have some tolerance? I ordered OEM ZJ soft brake lines as well so I can custom make whatever will fit. I just don't want to do it twice. In other words, I don't want to make the line and then find out its too short when I install the lift.

don't you need them for the parking brake shoes to sit properly?
i had a hard time finding some, passenger side is in great shape and i can use it, but the driver side I have is pretty rusted and missing a good chunk where the parking brake lever sits. i thought it was an issue
the part circled in red, not my picture but that's where i'm missing a part of sheet metal. so will it work without that lip?

Well I don't have the dust shields and will be attempting the install this weekend. I'll be sure to post pictures and information. I can almost guarantee I'll be missing parts.

thanks that'd be nice. i've read countless write ups but everyone has blacking plates and dust shields in mint condition. here's they're all so rusted at the junkyard so i was also wondering if the dust shields were necessary. from what i gathered it's where the parking brake shoes sit, so without them i have a hard time picturing how you'd set up the shoes

It looks like you guys are right, I do need the dust shields to property install the parking brake assembly. So over the weekend I hit up the junkyard again and there was still at least 3 ZJ's to pick parts from. Now that this is the third time I've had to remove axles and brakes, this went a lot smoother. Unfortunately, this was the best quality I could find in the yard:
The rest of my weekend was spending grinding off all the rust and cleaning up the brackets and backing plates so I could paint them and have everything fit nicely without all that rust buildup. Unfortunately I didn't snap too many pics as I was SUPER dirty. Dust from sanding / grinding was everywhere so I kept my phone in my pocket.
The parts are all painted now and ready for assembly, which I hope to start this week. I'll post up more pictures as I go along.

ZJ Disc Conversion Parts
Just an observer. Am I saying the obvious? Gosh, sorry if I am.
Big David has a lot of experience with the how-to's of converting XJ rear Drum Brakes to ZJ Disc Brakes, and supplies well reviewed recycled parts kits for that purpose, if anyone needs one.
Just FYI.
