Redneck Immobilizer
Okay so I probably shouldn't say this in a public domain but whatever.
93 XJ. 4.0
My key has been broken off in the ignition for some time. Too lazy to replace it. I'm not too concerned with it in my town, I'll leave it running while I go into a store. But whenever I go into a city or something I'm not too trusting. Is these a fuse in the kick panel that I can remove to make a redneck immobilizer?
At least until I find time to replace the ignition.

I kinda wanted something inconspicuous.
I've got a master switch under the good too but that's realllllly obvious when you pull up in a car park and pop the hood and let everyone see what you're doing.

Find the Start wire from the ignition switch. Put a toggle in it where it can be easily reached from the driver's seat.

It is seriously not to hard replace the ignition switch.
For $28 you can order the switch from Amazon

Back when I had muscle cars there were lots being stolen so I put a toggle switch under the dash that killed the power to my coil. Motor would turn over till the battery was dead and never hit a lick. One of my Camaros was broken into and the column busted. It was still there when I came out, broken column and all. After the police report I flipped my toggle and cranked it right up.

I was slick i always used a factory looking switch on the dash for a kill switch.I would hit the junkyard and pull a factory switch to something i didn't have like fog lights and used that.Long term storage i pull the rotor out of the distributor or crossed two plug wires so if it did start it make a lot of noise.
