You can get no lift relocation brackets, but you have to cut out the old shackle box, and I think you still get a little bit of lift out of them. I would say if your worried about too much lift from relocation brackets, to just go ahead and get like 1/2 inch lift shackles.

Also, take my request with a grain of salt. I have yet to lift a XJ. Just going based off of what I've found and read.

Give Dirk a call. He's the man, and I'm sure he can give you better info.

Ok thanks, and I don't really like cutting my jeep up, I like the clean look. I don't need the extra height but would just like the extra ride quality and articulation in the back, thanks for the help

Maybe you should look up an install on no lift SRB. Cutting out the shackle box isn't going to change the appearance of your Jeep.

My last post kinda came off rude to me after rereading it but I wasn't trying to be.

Hahaha, I know what you mean, but it's all good. Just quick and to the point... not rude. Appreciate the concern though!

Like that people are posting here though. Now I have something else to research.

This is my brand new Metalcloak 3.5" lift with OME springs, Liquid Iron Industries relo brackets and JKS boomerang shackles. Even after removing the 3rd leaf it sits this high. So if/when it settles over time it will be perfect.

31x10.5r15
Once the fenders are cut and flared they will probably look too small so I might go up to 32x11.5 after I re gear of course.

Dude that looks like a perfect setup, like it is, for what I've been looking into.

Is that another xj behind yours in that pic?

do you have to use the relocation brackets with the OME rear leafs? or can they be installed without them.

My kit got installed yesterday, along with new tires. I'll let you know how it rides, along with a picture or two. OME 2.5" Hybrid from dpgoffroad, I put 30" tires on the stock steel wheels. Always a work in progress.

They can be installed without them, but it will pull your stock shackle all the way forward due to the curve in the springs. Plus it will have a rough ride. I highly recommend the relocation brackets.

Thanks man, it is sitting close to 4.25" after it is all said and done. A little higher than I wanted actually, but it rides nice and has plenty of room for 31s I guess.
Yes that is a 96 XJ that has some transmission problems that I have been trying to buy off the owner for some time now and he doesn't want to part with it.

Did you have to do an sye with that much height? Thinking about doing relocation brackets but have a 3.5" and worried about the driveline vibes
