Default I need help...Choosing a Long Arm Upgrade Kit

Hello Everyone !! I'm new to the Jeep World and this cool Board too.....

I recently Bought an 89 Jeep XJ Cherokee - 4.0 I6 with a 231 J, Dana 44 in the rear, Custom weld in Rock Sliders...I was told the Jeep has a PRO COMP 6" Suspenion Lift....My issue is I want to upgrade my lift by adding a Long Arm Kit... a buddy said to look into a Long Travel Kit (not sure what the difference is ), Does any of you had or have a lift thru Pro Comp ? Is it possible to get an upgrade Long Arm kit without buying a new complete Lift kit ?? I've heard that Pro Comp kits are different... please help if you can.... Thx a bunch !!! Yep, you can buy long arm upgrade kits. Just the arms, without buying a whole new kit. There's lots of options out there, RC, IRO, Serious, TnT, RE, RK, etc. Just research what style of arm you want, and go from there!

What's your budget? Long arm upgrades range anywhere from $650-$1500

Do you use the OEM axle upper axle mount or that one that they provide that's weld on?

If you going to do the long arm upgrade I would go true 3 or 4 link and not radius arm. Far better setup overall.

Clayton and RockKrawler both have a bolt on/minor welding needed kit

Dont quote me, but I dont think ProComp makes a 6'' lift for XJs. I had the ProComp 3'' and it was alright, but now I have a T&T 5.5'' long arm and its way better. I would suggest getting the T&T LA upgrade kit, add there track bar, and the frame stiffeners. You will see a night and day difference onroad and offroad
