The best thing I ever did was put a super quiet muffler on my rig. Now, If I could just figure out how to make a 4.0 run quieter.

I have the dynomax on my Jeep. When I first put it on it sounded quieter than stock. The fiberglass has to break in before it gets a deep tone. I've had it for 10k miles and it sounds much better now. I think even Dynomax says you have to drive it for 3k miles or so before it starts to get a tone to it.
