For me 45k will be about ten years old, I imagine they will be dry rotted before the tread is gone

I'm running Uniroyal Laredo cross country tour on my trailblazer. I got caught in a snow storm going through the mountains in West Virginia a few years ago. I was happily surprised how well they did in the snow. very quiet on the road. They are going on my XJ when I wear out the crappy wranglers.

Not with out modifications to fenders, bumpstops, and maybe rims with less backspace. I run 235/75-15's on a stock suspension. Front left tire will bump the lower control arm in certain situations. So say they get by with 30/9.50-15's. I can't.

What type of tire you looking for?

Mainly I need a good Street tire but has good off road Performance too. I drive on the Street more then any thing. When it Snows then I drive in the Snow with my XJ.

I've had General Grabber A/T2's in 235/75-15 on my XJ for what would have been my 5th winter come this one. Still siping on all the tire lugs. Figured I'd need to replace them next summer. So good mileage, quite, and decent road manners. Did everything I needed off road short of moderate to deep mud. Tore one rim and tire up recently. Long story short I couldn't afford a new set of them. Been hearing about these since they were introduced years ago so thought I'd give them a try. These are I believe the 3rd generation.

The Kid down the street from me has 32x11.5-15 with no lift kit on his XJ . He did take the fender Flares off and it does not rub.

I have had Firestone Destinations on it for a few years. I might get those in 31x10.5-15. They seemed to be ok for my style of driving so far.

I call bs. Any little bump and they would be rubbing without trimming.

Might be possible with stock backspacing, bump stops and turn stop adjustment, but it would be very very tight and you are going to lose some turn radius with them.

I looked at his Tires and they do rub . It looks like he bent the edges of the fenders in to the fender wells.

265 75 15 Destinations. Like MISCHI said earlier. I drive 95 miles round trip daily. Good on road, wet roads and super at the sand dunes.

I just put a set of 31 10.5 X 15 Michelin Defender LTX on my mostly street driven 91 XJ and I like them a lot! Great ride and handling! They are also M/S rated but I haven't had them in the mud or snow yet, but they do work well in the rain! They replaced a set of Firestone Destination AT's which were also great tires that gave me 6 years of daily driving.

My 2 cents!
Dennis
