Haha seriously guys??? We are all driving XJs that are 14+ years old... I find that ironic. Anyways I am going to keep this little thread alive. I am pulling the trigger on 35s this week and despite the wisdom posted earlier I am having them mounted on stock 15x7 wheels w/ 2" spacers. I will post some pics and feedback on this awesome thread. Remember gents newer is not always better.

remember the breakage factor goes up w/ the tire size, 35's you should be running alloy axle shafts front & rear w/ stronger then stock axle u joints also. say this 3 times fast, shoulda, woulda, coulda. have fun w/ that jeep .

Alloy axle shaves: check
4.56 gears: check
C-Rock steering brace with durango steering bock: check
Brakes: stock
Besides having stock brakes I don't see why 35s would be so bad. I will let you guys know when my jeep spontaneously explodes with 35s.

the only thing you're really doing wrong is the spacers. 2" is a lot more leverage you're adding to the outers. kiss those unit bearings goodbye every few months

I noticed a big difference when I went from 33's to 35's. Realized that frame stiffeners and long arms are in my very near future. 35's look a and perform great though. Be sure to regear (4.88's). I went 4.56 on 33's, then went 35's and really wished I had 4.88's. Just a bit of a dog on hills & when towing.
Go 35's & don't look back.

35's are not bad. Even with 3.55. People are really over dramatic about it. You don't need to dump hundreds in axles to make 35s work. You don't need chromos, ctms, 4.88s, truss, top of the line ball joints and everything to run 35s. Know your skinny pedal.

theres a difference between working and performing. If you want your rig to perform under 35's, you're gonna need some stuff. if you want to cruise around on 35's just for the sake of having 35's, that's doable too

It blew harder than a birthday clown making balloon animals for a hundred kids at once.
Drove it like that for around a year. Horrible on mileage, a complete dog on the road, trans was shifting in the wrong spots, you get the idea.
Can it be done?
Yes.
Should it be done?
NO!
