The 0630 head on 96-99 Cherokees still had much larger ports than the 00-01 0331 head. The horseshoe intake was not used until 99. Your statement does not make sense because 99s have the same head as 96, 97, and 98. I have a late build 99 cherokee.
this is correct. 96-99 had the same 0630 heads, same size ports and all.
Again you said its rebuilt when it says Rebuilt from salvage which carries the same book valve of a salvage title.All the rebuilt part is the state inspected it before they let it back on the roads,The inspection is short and it is easy to hide things under sheet metal and bondo.

Honestly dude, I appreciate the insight, but I can see the car in person and I took it to my mechanics, I personally inspected it and it is officially purchased. I'm not going to revive that other thread and make a huge ordeal over it again. Its done, I bought it, I just drove it from Denver to Moab going 80 most of the way. Things a champ, runs strong and its quiet (well not the 4.0 lol) Come see me in Moab and debate with me on the trails, otherwise man, it's been bought and there's no reason to debate on it anymore. Even got pulled over for speeding already and officer gave me a free pass cause I was 5 mins home and he had another call. Didn't ask questions or have any issues with the permit or insurance, so..I'm not saying your wrong in any way, or that there may be some hidden things, but its a Jeep, easy to work on and cheap, so I don't see the big deal. The body is in great shape, the whole thing was repainted 6 years ago, the engine is strong, no rust, clean fluids, frame is fine, new tires, good seals. I just saw that the major components were fit and I made MY OWN decision. If that doesn't sit with some of the guys on the forum then you can gladly all ban me.

Plus, you all don't really keep in mind the newer emissions laws and the value of these cars etc. Insurance companies are almost TRYING to total them, parts are becoming less, there value is low and insurance doesn't want old cars on the road (mostly thanks to Obama). It's just like any other old skool unibody fading out AKA good luck finding good condition ones as the years pass...my impression was the car checks out and if I didn't buy it, they were gonna send it to the yard to be torn apart and demolished. And for what? Because it was stolen, A missing rear bumper, broken rear taillight and wrecked front fender and clip? And it only has 147k? Why, why waste such a clean vehicle? ****in wasteful America.

So I'm trying to put new fluid in my transfer case. I've got a 55 torque/hex bolt and I cannot get the thing to move for the life of me. The teeth have started to bend so I stopped. WTF do I need to get these (yes they're both concreted on) drain plugs off without stripping it all the way?

FWIW the rear diff was 'metallic' grey in oil color. Couldn't believe it, glad I was set on fluid changes immediately...
