Default 3 link front

Going to get D44 HP ford front axle and put it under my XJ with a ford 9" rear both with 5:13 gears. Gonna keep coil's front and thinking, keep the trac bar and just 3 link the front or should I just go ahead and 4 link it? Also if i do either which angle and placement should they be set at?

thanks

Rockrawler has a nice 3-link long arm setup that you could check out and get ideas from.

Go to cherokee, and upgrades. Click on long arm. One is a 3-link, the other is a 4-link.

Are you asking or building?

If you asking that I need to move this to Cherokee Tech..

If your building than this is the right place.

If I was doing the building, I would use the three link and forgo the hassle of building the link mount over the pumpkin. The most critical angle yo will have to match is not the drive line, but the castor angle otherwise you will have death wobble. Also you will need to use poly bushings on the top link. The rubber are too soft.

I think he is building it himself. I gave him the RK long arm link for ideas to help on his build.

I am running the RK 3 link setup, It just flat out works.

It is really hard to design a true 4 link on the XJ front due to the engine Location. In most cases you still end up using a trac/panhard bar. All three links require this.

It is going to be cheeper to do it yourself. If your going to do it make shore that you do it the right way with good parts. Do not just look for the cheapest parts get good ones.

It is almost always cheaper to build stuff yourself, but there is a headache factor involved. You can intall the RK kit in an afternoon if you plan it out, and have a good understanding of it. It will take you that long to make the arms if you ask me.

The only thing I wish I would have done before installing it was to add frame stiffners. I bolted mine up, then welded it to the "frame". I just couldnt trust 4 bolts to hold on the arms. Now I am stuck with plating the frame after the fact.

Heres the deal you have two choices here buy Ylink for the front (be lazy) and know its going to work. Or you can do what i did and mach up your own suspention that is exactly what you want and is a custom fit for your jeep. i made my own with and hand tools (literally) it was'nt hard, but now the only flex limit i have is by my shock length. and to be honest it was easy.
