Heater Blower not working
Just bought a 2000 WJ in really nice condition but the heater blower has just stopped working...
Tried all the heater & A/C controls but can't get it working.
What do I need to check first before pulling the dash out ?
I'm in the UK and its RHD in case that makes a difference.

Check the fuse to see if it's blown, if it is you may need a blower motor, if not you may need a blower motor resistor.

The WJ is sometimes plagued with an issue of a melted connector for the heater blower motor. This will explain it, and show how to fix it if that's your problem. >http://www.wjjeeps.com/blower_motor.htm

I found a fuse board under the lower dash on the drivers side.
Don't have an owners manual or repair manual at the moment.
Car is UK RHD
Thanks.

Looking like it might be the blower motor has gone bad
Is this a 'dashboard out' job to replace it or can it be done with the dashboard in place.....access doesn't look great

In my 93 ZJ, the blower motor can be taken out with the dash in place. Get to it from under the dash. There were three screws to remove to get mine out. The blower motor resistor was in the same place (check the resistor also),

Update : Got my local garage to check it out - needs a resistor pack and a wiring kit.
Any idea if LHD/RHD are the same as the parts prices from the USA seem a lot cheaper than the UK.
Also how long should it take to fit ? They were a bit unsure on that one.
Thanks.

Now sorted - the resistor module which controls the fan was faulty.
£126 for a new one...ouch !
Totally worth it though, now have heat

Jeep parts do seem a little on the expensive side compared to what I have been used to in the past - driven Fords for most of the last 30 years...still have 4 of them
