That is the worst looking PCM that I have seen. I think the problem may be solved.

Check this site out. I found it on a Jeep site and the poster was happy with their service. You may call and get info regarding your needs.

okay, time to order the computer. lol

when i get the computer in i will post some pics of the jeep - you guys will be really surprised when you see how good of shape it is in.....you really wouldn't think that computer came out of that jeep.

anyways, here's hopin' the computer is my problem. certainly looks like it hahha.

You must have bought that thing from a fella named Rusty
If the PCM is that bad one can only image what other electrical issues that thing might be having..

Thats the messed up thing - the rest of the jeep is rust free.

and we tested the harness - its fine.

I've tested more than one sensor like that without an issue. In fact the alldata test procedure asks you test the connector in that manner when you're troubleshooting the coil. The part of the lead which is inside the connector is not as big as the hole in the connector, so i don't see the issue.

Personally, I'm not a fan of jamming things in the back of an electrical connection.

UPDATE:

she runs!!!!!!!!!!

the computer was the issue - we plugged the new one in and it roared to life. Excellent.


We took it wheelin' but i forgot the camera, i was sorta surprised with what i made it though.

When you ordered the ECU, did it have to be programmed? I replaced the ECU in my uncle's Jeep with one that came out of a model of the same type but it still will not start. The gas gauge reads empty and the fuel light is on, the mpg computer just displays dashes, my analyzer will not communicate with the ECU and the fuel pump runs constantly without cycling off.
