1995 Grand cherokee limited quadra-trac clunking noise
I have just started noticing a clunking noise coming from my 95 grand cherokee quadra-trac. Here is the problem, it only occurs either after acceleration or when I am slowing down. Just a couple of months ago I replaced the viscous coupler and I do not have any clunking when turning (or jumping anymore) so that has worked out great. It does not occur when I turn, only driving straight, and even earlier today I had the suspension inspected and everything is tight. The noise is very loud, frequent, and sounds like it is coming from the center or rear of the jeep, not front end. Anyone have any ideas??

I had a funny clunking noise coming from the little pivit joint(the book calls it the torque shaft) for the transfer case linkage. it is located on the drivers side next to the trans on the inside of the frame/unibody wall. for such a little part the noise was really loud, you can wiggle it around and her it if it is loose.
