After all the work I've done recently, I got rid of my Cherokee and bought a midlife crisis. 2013 Scion FR-S. Let the haters hate.

Its been 11 months, but I am an XJ owner again. I still have the FRS, for now.

1997 4 door Sport. 200k auto. The only mod it has at the moment is the H4 upgrade and I Raptor lined the sides this week. I did the light mod myself over a year ago for my dad, which is where I got it from. He bought a truck and handed me the keys for some odd reason. No spray painting this one.

Pic from when I got it home and post radio install.

Thank you. Nothing to report here, except I did get some more work done to Boba Fett. Urban Assault Vehicle (VERY slow build)-uploadfromtaptalk1396772650371.jpgUrban Assault Vehicle (VERY slow build)-uploadfromtaptalk1396772664679.jpg

I'm not going too crazy, at least not yet. This is a second vehicle for me to get the kids to and from karate and to take the family on occasional camping trips. The FR-S is just good enough for one passenger, since the back seat was an insurance ploy. I will eventually get rid of the FR-S (massive impulse buy) and get another Wrangler. The wife is tossing the idea of getting a new Cherokee, so eventually (hopefully) we will be driving all Jeep products.

I may make a separate thread whenever I start doing stuff to the heep. But I will list things I want to do here.

1) Skyjacker 3" lift (budget minded here) Link

2) Quick discos, since I'll probably snap off the sway bar links putting the lift on.

3) Extended brake lines front and rear

4) Rubicon rims (maybe)

5) Duratrac tires (definitely)

6) New speakers with new wires ran

7) Redo the headliner

8) Remove rear sway bar

9) Recovery options

That's all for right now. I'm sure I'm missing something.

I ordered the rear lift leaf springs from Amazon. Rubicon Express 3.5" and new ubolts. I will be piecing the lift together as I get extra money. I was following a thread that showed the best bang for your buck for piecing together a lift, but I cant for the life of me find it now.

I got the leafs in yesterday. I'll be ordering the 4.5" coils, new shackle hangers, and bump stops next week, and the shocks the following week. Hopefully in 3 weeks I have a lift installed. I'll be replacing the tie rod and trac bar sometime this winter as well.

Once you own one jeep, you stay with Jeep.

Considering this is the second XJ I've owned, you would be correct. I've also owned an '06 TJ, a '93 ZJ, and a '77 CJ5. I owned an MJ project for a few months as well, but never got anywhere with it so I sold it.

I ordered the rest of my lift this morning. I still need to order a track bar, but the old girl will be riding better next week after I get her lifted.

Lift is here. I started with the rear, since that is what seems to always give me the most problems. I have 4.5" RE front coils and 3.5" RE full leaf packs, with RC 1.5-2" adjustable shackle hangers. (My old shackles were nearly rusted in two.)

I can not get the centering pin on the leaf pack to go back far enough to seat in the perch. I still have the tire on the other side with everything still connected. I probably know the answer already, but do I need to remove the tire and the other leaf to get enough slack to seat the centering pin? If so, how will I center the other side once this one is centered?

If they pin won't squeeze in there have been cases where people have to drill the perch hole to make the pin fit, I believe RE is one of the companies known for that issue.
