So this is Where it;s currently sitting with the 1" spacer up front.

New LCA's

New LCA's

And those were my new Warrior lower control arms. Very sturdy looking so hopefully the will do me good for a while. Anyone have any suggestions on a good roof rack that wont completely break the bank? Preferrably something that isn't permanent.

Nice build so far! I would suggest making your own rack out of emt, it's bolt together and is roughly around $100 at lowes/home depot for the materials.

What're your guys thoughts on this proline rack? http://www.prolineracks.com/Proline-...oof-racks.html
I'm not going to need it to carry a spare or anything real heavy duty just some camping supplies and the like.

Yeah after actually comparing the measurements to the top of the Jeep it does look pretty small. How about the Surco racks then? What size would you guys reccomend? I heard the GM100 gutter racks will work on the XJs too. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f177/...stion-1001654/

Thanks! They are Hydros. This is really my first experience doing anything to a vehicle so I cant really tell you wether they are good or not. I do know if you are willing to spend a bit of extra cash there are some brands that people will swear by like the old man emu stuff. The LCA's are good for 3-4 inches according to warrior products. And I got them from Morris 4x4 http://www.jeep4x4center.com/ for round $130.

To me To me!! lol jk

I think it got just a bit warm...

Whoever wired the radio in wasn't very good from what i could tell when taking the this stuff apart. I ordered a new fan control switch. Any fix for the plug? I cant seem to find one anywhere. Would it be bad to just get some connectors and attach them directly to the control switch?

I think the most difficult part of picking a roof rack is making sure you don't go too small or too big for your taste. I think that's why so many guys build their own. I'm personally not a fan of roof racks, but they do make sense! All that being said, I personally like the look of the first one, but the size of the second one.

Thats pretty much what I was thinking too. Probably just gonna bite the bullet and go with the surco one. At least if I do that I can eventually get the spare mount or light tabs for it. (I suppose I could just make some for that proline rack as well though too...)

Really starting to get the itch to go bigger... Too bad I haven't even been able to really take it on any trails yet. MN is pretty sparse for that where I live unfortunately. If anyone knows of some trails around Isanti MN let me know!! Popped some super cheap Walmart fog lights in a couple of days ago. Switch never got past the firewall though because it's just so darn cold. (-20 windchill and such ) Didnt even need to drill any holes in my bumper! The little plastic plug things were already the same size.

Behold the cheapness!!!

So somewhere on here I saw that someone asked why they were getting heat only through the defrost and somebody told them that it may be the infamous vaccumn line under the battery... Is this what they were talking about? Plainly it is cracked. I have the same issue, but only when I'm accelerating. Once I slow down again it will go through the vents. (Well, when the heat WAS working. Switch is in the mail)

EDIT: Im almost certain that's what it is after some more research. So what line would that be called then?

Oh trust me, I really want to. Am probably going to this summer after I get some more stuff sorted on it. Im just concerned about making that drive when I dont have anyone else to head up there with me in case I got stuck or something. Would you happen to have any pictures of the trails up there? Im interested to see some.
