so i decided its time to start my build thread
Names Dan I'm 19 from South central PA bought my pride and joy on April 20th of 2012. however Ive been driving it much longer.
i caught the jeep bug from my aunt and uncle who own a wrangler and took me wheeling but the bug lied dormant for a while. then one night sitting down by a creek with some friends my one friend said "hey i think i can drive my truck (old nissan 720) out to that sand bar" being the good friend i am i encouraged it . needless to say he made it half way. everyone else ditched us at that point. so i waded in and tried to give him a push but to no avail. so i said "i got a tow rope at my house right up the road ill be right back" i went and got it and went back to help. backed the jeep down to the bank and proceeded to pull him out. like a Bamf afterwards we found out his 4 wheel drive wasn't working right . but that night he suggested we go wheeling some time. and thats the night the jeep bug hit me full force.
now some history on the jeep. my parents bought it in 2005 for my mom to use as a mail jeep. during its time as a mail jeep it was beaten up pretty good, drivers door fell off, countless brake changes, countless tire changes, changed the alternator one subzero day only to find it was a fuse, destroyed the passenger front door, and many cooling system failures, as well as many many other things. then my mom got a new job and i got to drive it to school and such went wheeling a few times and broke some stuff. needless to say my parents were mad and said stuff like " youre not allowed to take it off road anymore" and similar stuff and i said stuff like " you cant ground this 747". only half that actually happened. ill let you pick which. broke my left tail light and exhaust while wheeling. but got it fixed then i took a pause from wheeling to focus on the engine and such did a tune up since it didn't have one for the 6 years my parents owned it. and many more before them. they considered an oil change enough maintenance for the condition it was driven in and usually used the orange can of death cause my dad is cheap.
so i bought it and now do regular maintenance and spend a lot of time working on it.
any who here's my pride and joy stock on a trail:

after driving stock for a while i bought a used 3" lift for $200 from a member on here had shocks coils and AAL. sat in the garage for half a year and in that time i kept buying upgrades first was 3.5 RE leafs, shackle relocation and shackle, then HnT sye and extended brake lines then sway bar quick disconnects. ended up selling the AAL for $60 then my lift sat in the garage until i found the time, which ended up being my week vacation from work in august of 2012. i went down to west Virginia to my aunt and uncles who are like my real family and i can not thank them enough for all their help and hospitality. my uncle is a mechanic and loves jeeps. he has a wrangler and 2 J trucks hes rebuilding. any who we spent countless hours installing my lift and it took all week. ended up with 7.5(unsettled) in the back and 3.5 in the front. looked funny as hell. later the back settled to about 5.5 so i bought new 5.5" coils and a new track bar and since i had to get it inspected i took it to my friend also a member on here and had him inspect it and install the new coils and trackbar. so now it sits level and im ready for my next project, which is hunting leaks and such.
^^ thats the rear lifted and stock front had to do it one at a time cause my uncle didnt have his vehicle lift installed yet.
^^ this is when i took it for inspection and some misc. installations.
