Finally on to some simple stuff...

Dropping in new distributor, coil, plugs and wires... First I am taking the gear off my old distributor and putting it on the new one I don't like the idea of running a new gear on there because I have never had good luck with new metal riding on old metal causes lots of weird wear on parts.

Taking the throttle body completely off the intake and cleaning it as best as possible

Replacing all the plastic emissions and vacuum tubing with new along with new rubber elbows where they are needed

It is getting very close to start up time, I am getting excited!!!

Getting close! Where do you buy the rubber elbows and vacuum tubing.

Would it be a place that also sells online?

Better that you found that crack now, as opposed to on the trail somewhere.
As JD said, you're gonna like the new motor.

Well it looks like I'll be getting a short block from place in town for about $850 for everything assembled in it and a high-performance cam from Compcams so I'll be needing that head sorry.... :-(

Wow. Sounds like you are experiencing some pretty good karma. Some of these problems could have been a royal pain in the butt.

So now you've got a short block with a cam and a head in great shape. You'll be up and running before you know it.

I hope you post a video of it running. I bet the cam will sound great.

Here are some pics of last night the only thing that stopped me from getting it out last night was the damn e-12 torqs bit socket for the top two bell housing bolts
