2000 Ls xj
Been wanting to do this build ever since I got this jeep two falls ago and I'm finally getting started so I figured I'd document it. I plan on going with either the 5.3 or 5.7, all depends on what I get my hands on first, with a nv4500 and flipped dana 300 behind it.
When I originally bought this jeep for $800 it was bone stock and what appeared to be spotless. But once I got her home I tore the corner bumper caps off and found horrible rust on the back. i also found rusted out floors and a bad patch job on the rockers. so i welded in all new steel; 2x6 tubing on the rockers, 10 ga steel for the floors, and an old furnace panel for the body. once I had that all buttoned up she became my daily driver.
Did a road trip up north with her and she ran great, 323 miles on one tank. I was pretty content with her. That following fall I went off to college and during 3 of the weekends I had off I put on a 4.5" lift with 33" tires.
Then one weekend on my way home from school the thermostat got stuck and the temp sensor went bad all in one shot. Ended in catastrophe. She sat for the winter until I pulled her out the next spring and began tearing her apart to prepare her for the transplant.
What I also plan on doing is plating the frame, all three sides, bumper to bumper, with 3/16 steel. So I drew up some stiffeners on cad and cut em out on a plasma cutter

So a couple things have happened in the last couple weeks. Picked up a Dana 300 that was freshly rebuilt with all new seals bearings and two new gears. Ended up going with a tbi 350 instead of LS because I got a rebuilt motor and a th350 for $350 so I jumped on it. Ended up getting a 700r4 because I wanted a 4 speed instead of 3 plus the tail housing for the th350 cost more than the 700r4. So I painted those up and began plating the frame.

Problem I'm having right now is trying to figure out what to do for a harness. I can almost always figure out how to fabricate things but when it comes to wiring I'm lost
