I'm from Syracuse. I've got a bone stock WJ but wouldn't mind doing a little off road wheelin'. My ZJ was pretty awesome in the woods, but the frame broke from SALT. I've been told I need a 2" lift for ground clearance before I go into the woods, but I'd like to see what she's capable of now. I'm not really ready to modify my DD yet. I did put a set of General Grabber AT2s on it and the traction is outstanding.
I'd be interested in someplace I can do a little moderate wheeling. Anybody know where Whispering Pines is?

No, I'm not in CNYJeep. You're probably the guy I see with the Wrangler with the windshield decal, aren't you? My WJ was owned by a soccer-mom before I got it and it's prestine. All I've done to it is put some decent tires on it. My wife is gone from this earth now, so I'm ready to wheel. I can't get radical with it because I need it for my business. I think some narrow, rutted dirt roads would be fun. You know, the ones with knee high grass in the middle, where I MIGHT need to go to low range.
I'm on Salt Springs road across from Kinsella's quarry.

In the Syracuse area it started snowing Christmas eve and before it was done we got about 12 to 14". With the wind, it looked like a lot more than that! I was out delivering newspapers with my jeep and never got stuck. It was worse AFTER the plows because it was solid ice underneath. I had it in part time for better traction however. This wasn't lake effect powder. This was heavy wet stuff that packed down hard. This Friday night it was 1 degree above. The snow banks turned into cement! This winter is like it was 30 years ago. Back then, the middle 2 weeks in January the temp never got above 10 degrees. Global warming, HAH!
