Exclamation Reiter Closing!!!

Has anyone heard the rumor of reiter shutting down. I was camping last week and I ran into a forrestry worker that supposedly sits in the board for land use projects, and he was telling me that reiter will be limited access while some improvements are made and the area expanded. after that it will be gated access and will be limited to clubs with a members list and accountibility. That way the area can be maintained and cleaned by those who use it or it will be taken away for good. There was also talk of the rest of wa orv parks going down that same route in the near future.Next on the block is Walker Valley, now I havent been there so I dont know the extent of garbage and or damage but I am asking everyone who wheels these places and their friends to please TREAD LIGHTLY and always pack out what you pack in, and if you see things that shouldn't be there please remove them. I do not want to lose my hobby because of a few bad seeds, and I am sure I have supporters here. Help me spread the word to solidify us wheelin for years to come.

Thank you for your time in reading this novel, and thank you in advance for your help!!!!!

Are you F***ING kidding me???!!!! I can't even believe they are limiting access to Reiter let alone talking of closing it. Did you actually see any gates? There have been gates at Walker Valley for awhile now but, those of us who know the place, know how to get around them. Thanks for the heads up. I'll just continue to pick up any trash I see along the trails just likw I always do.

no gates yet end of summer, they say. they are taking timber out of the other side which means more trails when they are done. what they are trying to do is create accountibility so we police ourselves. it is private property so they dont want the garbage and the abandoned cars left up there. If everyone does their part and uses the trails that are created then they will leave us alone, but if it becomes a dump then they will close it and prosecute tresspassers. The fellow I was talking with about it with is also an avid wheeler. and has a big ol jeep with rockwells (cool machine). Walker is next (next couple of years) and is the same deal. they are finishing up near concrete and are thinking of opening the gates for us up there as well. I will update as I hear more. He is going to email me updates and I will post them as I get them. I think they are going to have a public meeting as to the changes and their plans. I am going to be there and hope that I can stir up some support for that as well. That meeting will be held sometime in aug. I will let you know. Thanks Buck for your diligence in solidifing our way of life.

I pick up any trash I find along the trails everytime I go to Walker Valley. I don't go out of my way or make a special trip. I just do it everytime I go as it's my local wheeling area. I always dump the trash in the trash can in the pit so the DNR rep. that is usually there can see that there are 4wheelers here who care.
