1997 4.0L, auto, 4x4
171,500 miles
Stock with mostly oem replacements for worn out parts.
Runs great.

On my route to and from work which is about 75% highway, 95 miles round trip, and never getting it above 65mph, I usually get 21-22.

More around town driving or a heavier foot and it will get about 18 pretty consistantly.

With 170K miles on my '99 Cherokee LTD - using K&N Air filter, DynoMax Exhaust, Splitfire Plugs and a regular fuel-vitamin supplement of Marvel Mystery Oil [at a mix ratio of 4oz/10gal regular fuel], I'm getting 15-17mpg locally and 19-22mpg highway.

95 sport 2dr 200K miles AX15 when i was stock 2wd i was getting low 20's (20-23) every tank, i do mixed country and city driving.

Now i'm 4x4, tired AX15, locked 8.25, 3.5" lift, stock tires as off now and i get 18-19 every tank. I removed the mech fan, installed 99+ intake, header, cat delete and have a pretty gutted interior

1994 Sport. 4.10's, 31" tires, 16-18 all around combination driving. I don't baby it. Ethanol hurts the mileage...I burn pure gas when available...which is almost never.

stock 99 sport Just ran seafoam and got an extra mpg since then- 22MPG average, I drive half in city half on highway, but I don't drive like a grandpa, I just don't bother accelerating up hills. I don't drive the jeep for mpg though.

hey i like the thread, i guess i shouldnt be too suprised by some of the responses, but damn... well, here goes:
the mods: DIY short ram and 2"bb.
the recent work: plugs/wires, cap/rotor, TPS, blew out lines, cleaned pump/filter, tons of seafoam and injector cleaner.
today i will be replacing my IAC valve and i hope that improves my MPGs, but as it sits now, usually no more than 20. if i go off road, or have fun w/ the gas pedal, no less than 15.
ordering some wrangler duratrac's (235/75r15) so im sure that will have an impact. ive got some wrangler SR-A's now and man do they SUCK!!!
check out the duras, though...

Default Street Jeep..

Stock 1992..2WD..2door..5 speed.4.0...General Altimax tires 225/70's pumped up to 45 psi..slight front end lowering 1 inch rear up same amout.. modest lip air dam... 3:07 rear end with that 22% O/D works out to a 2:39 final drive... run 15/50 Mobil 1 syn. with a shot of 8oz German Liqui-Moly in oil and their manual trans moly additive in gearbox and rearend.I know for a fact that Mercedes and Porsche use this same additive in their manual/rear ends.Always get 21-23 to work...60 mph .mostly highway. On long trips interstate just checked out twice this month at 27.5 at 60-65...above 75 the mileage does dip to 21-22...staight street Jeep...First post last year had better mileage posted but found out I was not filling tank up to top ...gave unreal mileage figures but now after a year and half driving I can post these correctted stats...and the Liqui-Moly has taken away the classic ticking at idle the 4.0 's seem to have..nice.

1999 cherokee, auto, around 5in lift easy going and the speedo running slow cuz of tire size 15ish with 31in swampers i lost huge mpg with the tires over my bfg a/t's

annoying fact: my 88 wrangler islander 4.2 all stock with a weber carb and hei conversion gets 25+
