So no problems now that the 2 airbag fuses are removed. Not sure why the signal wire would have voltage. My guess would be for startup. No idea where it's supplied. Maybe that's what gives a high idle when first started then it switches over to the signal from the TPS? Also now wondering what raises the idle for a split second when the shifter is placed into park. Don't know if it's connected to the interlock in the ignition. This particular jeep does not do that but my other 3 do.

So I went about a week without codes. Sunday I took it for a drive. Revved it to 4500 to get it to shift to 2nd in 1-2. Then drove about mile in 2nd at about 70 mph, on 33's with stock gears so it wasn't revved real high. Then codes! Now getting misfire for cylinder 1 which I've had before the TPS thing. And a p0122, TPS signal low voltage. Going to try the TPS I removed. Problem wasn't with that, when I switched it nothing changed. So I'll try the old one. Maybe this one is shot now.

Was doing some reading today and though it wasn't specifically for jeep it was a dodge. Read in two separate forums that the ECU will send voltage through the signal wire in the event of a sensor failure or for instance connector falling off. This is why there is 4.? volts on the signal wire cavity when the connector is unplugged from the sensor.
Not sure where I could be picking up high voltage on the signal wire still. And can't find any way that wire would be affected by voltage in the steering area. So if that wire were shorting somewhere, it wouldn't seem likely it would pick up 5v or more from ground.
One forum was saying something about a pull up resistor? Stating that the ECU has a purpose up resistor that will feed line voltage to the signal wire in the event of a complete failure or whatever. Not sure if this is true with the jeeps. Not sure what affect grounding that would have either.
OFFICIALLY STUMPED!!
