Radio doesn't work... but it gets power?

I got a new radio a couple of months ago and I just put a new headlight switch in and a new motor

Well my radio is getting power... kind-of

I wired the ground to the cigar lighter

the radio lights up right when I connect the battery, but no other time and its lifeless

I replaced the fuse and the issue is still occurring.

Any Ideas?

you no there is two hot wires for radios one for power and one for memory and clock
