I would do a thread, but I don't think it would be very exciting! I just ordered the ebrake lines. I figured I'd just replace both of them. The towing company must have put their chains up over the cable and broke it...I'm just assuming. All I know is that the ebrake was fine when it left and the line was hanging by the rear tire when I got it back. People!!! I swear...

Oh! And I got the stuff I need to clean the NSS. Not sure I'm brave enough to try it yet. I might just find it and stare at it for awhile and use my jedi mind tricks to have it clean itself.

Before rebuilding/replacing, have you tested your NSS at the harness?

Most likely just a dirty NSS. The NSS is adjustable but without removal and rehab, you may adjust it to get your reverse lights working properly only to discover that it will no longer start in "P" or "N" or either and I suppose reverse lights are nice but a bit useless if you can't start your rig.

If you're asking me, then the answer is no.

Maybe this will help you..

It seems to me an easy r&r is far better than trying to bypass it

the NSS should only be bypassed in an emergency to get off the trail and home, and doing so will cause you to not have reverse lights, and may throw a code.

This has been discussed a TON. You need to either clean or replace the NSS if you expect to pass a safety inspection and have reverse lights. Wiring a switch up is just retarded IMO. The fix is simple and will only take an hour or two....just do it
