i just did a sye on my cherokee and right around my speedo gear its leaking when i drive it my hole brand new drive shaft rear end gas tank is coverd in it but it dont leak when im not goni no were wat is rong

 

did you replace the O-ring that should be one it?

were does the o ring go

 

it should go around the spedo gear assy....if you pull it out again you should see a spot for a O-ring.

 

I know this is an old thread, But I figured I'd post this picture for others that may be experiencing the same problem and either Google for info or use the Search function and need to know where the O-Ring goes. There's actually (2) O-Rings..... (1) goes around the Speed O Gear Sensor. And the other (1) that is usually the source of the problem is on the Speed O Gear Housing Assembly.
