Default hood only opens when it wants

99 4door xj----So I searched through the forum and didnt find what I wanted to hear.

My hood opens sometimes, but when it doesnt, I have to get someone to push down on each side of the hood to get it open. I want to fix this problem before I can't open the hood.

I greased everything up, and it did help a bit. i checked out my 98XJ and everything looked the same except for the passenger side "spring" was not sitting straight. I was wondering how I can fix this spring to see if that is my problem.

I would replace the two springs and that should do it...TJ
PS you can try straightening them out and stretching them too...

This is my reasoning for going to hood pins on my Cherokee. Summit racing like 10 bucks.
