differences in fuel pumps?

differences in fuel pumps?
i just tried to replace the fuel pump on my 1992 xj 4.0 5 speed 4x4. the replacement pump is to small and has a different nipple on the bottom. my jeep was originally 2wd 4.0. are the 2wd pumps/tanks different? the fuel pump in mine right now is a bosch 8933003591

What brand did you buy? Hope it's not an Airtex...
As far as your question goes, no all the pumps are the same until you change major generations.
