Seal can be replaced but I'm not sure where exactly. It doesn't keep anything out from coming through the butterfly shaft though. The seal is there to keep water from coming through the outside where the TPS Is bolted to the throttle body though.

Not the TPS seal, Oh Green Leafy One. The throttle shaft where it comes out of the TB on the other end of the TPS. I did a smoke test and got some out of there.

What? No comprendé? Me explain:

I made a smoke machine with an El Cheapo heat gun from Harbor Freight, some pipe, some fittings, a rubber hose and a tiki-torch wick. Fueled it with baby oil. It made a nice thick cloud of smoke which I injected into the intake manifold via the booster tube. Plugged the air intake, of course. I produced a slight positive pressure and let me see if there were any vacuum leaks.

I only had one - a small leak of smoke out of the throttle body where the coil spring is, opposite the TPS.

there's no seal on that side, just a greased bearing.

Okay, thanks. I'm thinking it's probably no big deal, since it's before any of the sensors.

I'll do Cruiser's tip. Not expecting much of a difference. We'll see....
