Good to know. Reminds me of the tags on the rears of the old CJ's, 2A's and 3A's (that is where I got my start over 40 years ago), where you divide the upper number in the fraction with the lower number to get the gear ratio. Wow over 40 years. Just kicked in. It is sad how much I do not know after all these years. Now I am depressed. LOL.

They are but then again they are not. Way back when the technology for modding was limited. I mean we had Advance Adapter and Novak for putting in different drivetrain parts. I had a Buick 231CI V6 in my 2A. Pretty much Rough Country was all you had for leafs and shocks. Unless you went to a spring repair place, we had one called Spring Replacement, where they would rearch and then heat treat springs. For tires in was pretty much Armstrong Tru Tracs, 30" or 31" unless you bought some Dick Cepecks. We did have double shock set ups, dual oil filter and battery setups. We had Warn winches and hubs. There were aftermarket bumpers and side bars. Runck was the best at that time. Roll bars and full roll cages were available. Pretty much it though. All of which I did to all the CJ's I owned. Then I just had 4 wheel drive vehicles around to get around. For skiing and whatnot. Then at some point just stopped thrashing around in the mud, muck, and sand totally. Then I bought this XJ. And while my thrashing days are over it has become this little project. Gives me something to do with my free time.

Hi I'm new and Have some questions.
I have a 91 Jeep Cherokee 5 speed I just bought. A new problem arose. I now have to put the gas to the floor to get it to start and when it does it runs a bit rough at first then smooths out, but every time I hit the gas it has one small hesitation them the rpms come up fine. If I let it idle I can hear a very subtle reduction in rpms then it revs up fine with no hesitation for a few minutes. Then rpms come back up very subtly again and problems persists. Also if I cut it of while its doing right it starts up fine. Any ideas? I've cleaned injectors and replaced fuel filter checked fuel pump at the same time I made sure the tank was cleaned out. I'm stumped.

Maybe it was Rancho. Believe what they tell you. The mind is the first thing to go. LOL. Gotta few stories but nothing really outrageous. Except maybe this one. This is about my friend though, I was in the passenger seat, who owned a 72 Chevy. Playing cat and mouse with a Ford. We were the mouse. Tearing around these sand pits we used to wheel in. We were young, fearless, and frankly thinking back on it pretty stupid. So the guy in the Ford is keeping up pretty good. We were kinda higher up in the pits. My buddy says screw this and just takes a right. We go down this pretty steep slope in the sand. He is tapping the brakes but we are still kinda sideways, he straightens it out just in time to hit this small level plateau section about halfway down. We pretty much bounce the rest of the way down the hill. Oh did mention that there was three people in the bed of the truck? The best part was once we got to the bottom we all jumped out of the truck to see the Ford come down. Next thing we see it the guys in the Ford walking to the edge and looking down. Wooses. LOL. My buddies used to give me a hard time about putting my vehicles in 4 wheel drive. I used to keep them in 2 wheel drive and go as far as I could go. Once stuck then put them in 4 wheel drive. You would think that after being up to my elbows in muck and mud a few times trying to lock my hubs I would stop doing that. Not that smart. LOL.

Hi all! I am looking to get a new valve cover gasket for my 93 grand cherokee. What is the difference in these? There is two fel pro's i see one is under $10 and the other $40. Thanks
