Default 90 4.0 start and die

Ok so recently. As in the last month or so. My jeep will crank fire and die then restart. It's becoming more frequent. Some times it will start and die two or three times In a row. Then start and idle fine. Other times it will start and rev to 3k. And then come to idle. A few months ago I put a new fuel pump in because the factory one was getting loud. The new unit is loud as hell. But I haven't bothered replacing it under warranty because it hasn't failed yet. 6 months before that it would die randomly I found the fuel pump relay was failing randomly. I have checked allmy sensor grounds they are good. My next stows are to check the fuel pressure when it fails by pass the resistor. Replace the tpc clean the iac and replace the O2. Just because I have been meaning too. Any other thoughts ?

Probably more than one issue.

I bet you got an Airtex pump. If so, get it warranteed and get a Bosch.

TPS sounds like it's taking a dive if you have 3000 rPM idle on start.

Did my Tip 5?

Do it again. Takes about 48 seconds to do.

I'm still suspicious of the fuel pump.............

Ok so my parts are at the post office and I'm stuck on the freeway waiting for a tow truck. It died on the road I have UN plugged everything and checked for connection visually. I hear the pump run while cranking but not with key in or once I let off the key then it dies. Some times it will start and rev up and then die. But very seldom. I have a new fuel pump O2 tps sitting at the post office. But could it be anything else ? Ignition switch ? My key likes to stick in the lovk position so I just pull the key out and turn the lock back as far as to only shut off the engine and electrics

TPS has similar symptoms, mine would die out. I suspected and changed fuel filter, pump etc. finally a dealer told me it's the TPS and it's a common problem. Swapped it and haven't had a problem for 12 years. I have a spare just in case though...
