4wd light not working....
I have a 1991 Jeep Cherokee Sport, 4wd, 5-speed, with the auto-locking hubs. The 4wd works fine, but the light on the dash doesn't come on to show it's in 4wd. It's really not a problem, except it would be reassuring to know that it's out of 4wd when I pull back onto pavement. Anyone experience this? I'm hoping it's a simple matter of a disconnected wire, or vacuum hose, but not sure where to start looking.
Thanks!

I have a 1996 5 speed Jeep with the same problem and it's not a disconnected wire. I had a dash apart today and there's only 2 connectors, one for the speedo, tach, etc. and one for all the lights, so nothing can be disconnected unless it broke out of the connector. Might be a blown bulb in yours. It's only a couple of screws to check it. I know this didn't really help, but I thought I'd put my 2 cents in.

yours is the sending unit on the t case. it's a plunger switch that turns the light on and off on the dash when in 4 hi or lo. in the older 1 may be a vac lock axle, that light controll switch is actually on the axle housing at the vac unit on the pass. side. if it's not a vac lock it will also be on the t case.
