1998 Cherokee Sport Light Running Light Problems
Hi There.
I have a 1998 Cherokee Sport 4.0 that has developed problems with the exterior lights.
The passenger lights work as normal, however on the driver side, the tail light group and front running lights do not come on. The headlights, brake lights and turn signals all work fine however.
Would this be something that would be caused by a blown fuse? I have not pulled any fuses in the kicker panel yet as I don't have the schematic. Would there be a certain color fuse to check first?
Any help or advice would be great.
Thank you in advance!

Hi and welcome to CF. It sounds like a fuse is not your problem, if it was all the lights would be out. I would check the wiring or a plug connector...Tj

2001 Cherokee, driver side running lights out
I don't even know how long they've been out, but none of the running lights (front, back and side) on teh driver's side are coming on.
Not a fuse. Anyone know if the main light switch could cause this?
Thanks,
Steven

In my case, I changed the back one first and it was good, not burned out, so I stopped there. I did install the new bulb, but the old one looked fine.
Tell me it's not like a string of Christmas tree lights and one bulb takes 'em all out...?

Running lights solved...
Problem solved.... I didn't know about the other fuse block under the passenger's side kick panel. I got the fuse changed which fixed the problem then traced the original cause to bad wiring on one of my trailers.
Thanks Free for all good direction!

Sorry, but I've only had an XJ for a week....back-up lights (and back-up lights only) are not working.
Those two fuses referenced above are fine. They control the tail light assemblies??
I'm guessing my issue may be the backup sensor on the transmission shifter then??

Try the NSS... google the repair. Many times you can just remove, clean and replace.
