Trail #2 of 13… Chicken Corners. I wasn't going to even bother posting this one since we didn't make it to the end due to a freak snow squall. My Uncle was out here on vacation at the time so he came along. He is an amateur photographer and took a lot of awesome shots that really show how beautiful the desert is around here. So I figured I would do a little something different for this TR... instead of a ton of jeep pics a lot are of the scenery along the trail. This day started off sketchy as rain seemed to be looming in the distance when we headed out. We had been in this area before and wanted to show it to my Uncle so we figured ohh well we will see how far we get.

When we got to the actual start of Chicken Corners the weather seemed to be holding so we continued on. This trail is an easy 2 rating with only a few small ledges.

Right around this point we noticed a white wall heading towards us from across the canyon... we weren't sure if it was rain, snow or hail. It did however make for some awesome lighting.

It turned out to be snow; we thought it might just be a quick burst so we continued on. We made it to right before Chicken Corners and decided to stop and have lunch and see if it blows over. After sitting there for about a half hour watching the snow blow up over the cliff edge and pile up we decided it might be a good idea to turn around.


There was a similar storm like this a week or so before and we ended up getting 6 inches. We did not like the idea of driving over Hurrah pass in a half a foot of snow so we started for home. By now the snow had started to accumulate.

Of coarse right as we got just far enough away to make it not worth while turning around the snow started to ease up.
