Default Around our shop!

Hello I'm James.

I own Ares Fabrication. My shop builds hard core Jeep off road products. We have been doing it for sometime. I have been wanting to do a thread about my shop for a while. We are on Instagram, twitter, and Facebook almost every day letting our followers know what we are doing. We make post on all sorts of stuff like prototypes, builds, ideas, drawings shipping, our tools, etc. The goal is to make your experience with us more personal. And to make better products. We are going to do the same thing on the forums. Feedback and constructive criticism is always appreciated but not necessary. I would also love to hear your ideas. If you want a product built that we don’t build. We will look into it. Heck I used to only build CJ and Wrangler parts until one day someone asked me to build them a XJ front bumper. Now our XJ line is the most popular.

XJ armor! Here is something we are working on. I'm sick of my competitors make garbage for the XJ Jeeps. Take this upper quarter armor. My competitors tell there customers that the have to use the mounting hardware to bend the 11 gauge armor to contour the 18 gauge body. Hmm that not how that works. What happens is the body deflects to fit the armor. Putting way to much stress on the mounting hardware. Making them pull out over time. They give you a flat piece where we have 12 bends in this piece. 10 of them are 1 degree bend. Giving you a contoured armor. A little extra work but way worth it.

This is what I'm thinking about for the light box. It does brake, stop, turn and reverse.

That light retrofit is pretty slick. I'd be game just to ditch the incandescent bulbs for an all in one package

Why not bring that rear fender guard back a bit, add mounts for where the light box would mount, bend the extension 90 and mount the light? Replace the light box and armor the side, while not adding the weight of a full box back there.

Kinda like Lotus... simplify and add lightness

Lots of people have been asking about my rear XJ bumper. Here it is on one of my favorite Jeeps. I love the 2 door XJs. It is laser cut from 3/16 plate. It's broke into shape with a CNC press brake. We have them in stock and ready to go.

What's the scoop on that lower quarter panel armor?

The lower armor is 3/16 laser cut and press broke. I sell them for $55.
