I'm pretty impressed with them. The low beam cut off is great and the high beams kind of act like mini pods sort of.

Installed the quick disconnects in the misses jeep today, and she wanted to try them out, however since neither of us see anything but pavement lately, we had to make due... They are definitely too long, and will have to be shortened a good inch. Easy peasy with the angle grinder.

Upcoming the second week of April we'll be camping for three days along with a jeep meet so hopefully that'll be fun. I've been hoarding camping supplies and I plan on organizing everything tomorrow.

The meet up is at Travl Holiday in VB so camping there, not the best site but we're going mainly for the event itself. No wheeling unfortunately just a meet and greet, some award show, vendors will be there, etc. It's mainly for the JKUs and JKs but there's always a few XJs and that made it worth it to us.

I do have a local club that wants to go to Flagpole in a month or so, that might be my first real beginner trail experience. I'm itching to get this hunk of junk off road.
I did get a chance to pick out our camping spot and get it reserved ahead of time. I got the biggest one I could find.

Take the XJ out to Uwharrie National Forest. It's a 4 hour ride from where you are at. Not a bad drive. About 15 miles of jeep trails. My wife and I went last summer, had a blast. Some rock crawling, couple technical trails, beautiful scenery. Worth the trip. They have camping sites, but the wife and I booked a hotel. We don't own any camping gear (yet), and I have boo koo Marriott points (one of the few perks of spending more time in a hotel than in my home).

My horns stopped honking a month ago, and since they are a safety feature I decided to re-wire both and relocate them inside the front crossmember. Turned out the one of the wires were badly corroded and the ground to the chassis wasn't a strong connection.

Just looked up some videos of Uwharrie, it does look beautiful. I'll consider it when I have more free days off since they don't offer many college courses during summer. Thanks for the suggestion.

I was hoping to get my new fender flares by the end of the week so I could show up to the jeep fest with it, but it appears it won't be ready for another two weeks. I went ahead and started prepping for them by filling in any holes that the flares aren't going to cover up. I'll probably fill in a few more on the upper front fenders but we'll see when they come in, i'm hoping it covers them up and doesn't affect the mounting location of the new ones.

I also ordered some Raptor Liner and will be lining my hood, header panel, re-doing my lower half, and rear bumper with it to cover up any rust and to get rid of the cheap Rustoleum bedliner that was on it. I'll be giving my old fender armor to the misses when mine arries.

That is sweet I like the color! I asked to see because in that first photo it looked almost like the backend was chopped and wanted to see how clean it was done. Either way that is one good looking XJ.

It's a roll on Monstaliner bedliner paint job, spent about $350 including extra rollers, tape, sand paper, etc. It's great for a cheap jeep, she spent $1800 with 190k on it two years ago and it's at 220k now, she probably put another $1500 since then including fixing it up and the lift, tires, wheels, paint, etc. I'll let her know you like it! Appreciate it.

I went ahead and welded in the rest of the holes. Primed and sanded down to 120 grit. It's going to rain today but it's going to be nice tomorrow so I'll raptor line it then. Headed to the junk yard in a bit to see if they have some misc. interior panels that I need.

More pictures and videos to come, the jeep fest turned out great. Misses won best modified cherokee trophy. Camping was a blast, and we also had a chkd convoy to donate stuffed animals.

I forgot to post finished pictures of the Raptor Liner. I LOVE this stuff. Really easy to spray on and very forgiving. Used a 5 gallon air compressor. Texture is smooth but bumpy, not course and seems very easy to wash off. I am considering either going with a matte paint in the future with Raptor Liner accents or just do the whole rig with it. I'm happy for now and that won't be for a while now.

I have some videos of the weekend I need to upload along with more pictures whenever the group photographer uploads them.

Our dog Havoc was a hit this weekend with his doggles as well.
