I need some help. I've replaced he radiator and thermostat in my 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7L V8. I am now searching for a coolant temp sensor that will fit. Everywhere I go says the brass sensor (on the left) will fit, but it doesn't. If you look at the original sensor (on the right) you'll see the threads are tapered and the sensor probe is smaller than the brass part. Why will the brass sensor not fit? And where can I find the original plastic sensor?
