Default Winterfest 2018: Day 1 Part 2

10 pics of the same angle because mall crawler with his headlights on during the day

Brandon flexing out the new 3-link

Could use less angle on the shackles

Need to bump stop the rear so my tire doesn't get caught on the Helen Keller cut fender.

And need to bump stop the fronts. R.I.P. horn

A few are on my IG, DevilsPotato94, most aren't because I need to download the pics my buddy took to my laptop. Or i just haven't uploaded them. There is a crazy video from day 1 though.

Having been posting on here, and I will post
about the previous 2 trips out, but to give those of you who only follow on here a quick update jeep's been having a annoying random misfire since late Feb. Replaced everything that could cause it and still nothing. Finally got around to doing a compression test and cylinder #2 is about 40% lower than the rest. Currently looking into swapping the motor or rebuilding the current, whichever is more affordable.

Junkyard engine will almost definitely be cheaper, but a rebuild will probably be better in the long run. Longer lasting and better quality.

Just found your thread. Spent an hour and a half binge-reading through it.

You went from a dude who was thrilled to add a string of christmas lights to your rack... To a guy who now fearlessly tackles any mechanical project that his jeep presents.

And I'll bet you probably could do it all in the mud, during a thunderstorm.

Fun read. Nice work. Subscribed.

I'm going to tear off the valve cover and the head and see what the culprit could be later this week. Found a couple cheap low mile motors a state away that I can look at too

lol bet. I actually picked this up with my buddy last night

142k out of a '96. Only thing different is the manifold and this has a pilot bearing because it was off a 5spd. Currently putting together an engine hoist and stand for it. (It wasn't fun lifting that into the truck by hand)

Head casting is probably different too, but it won't affect fitment or anything. I don't remember what year they stopped using the temp sender in the back corner of the head. If yours has the hole just put a plug in it and you're good. Good score as long as it was a good 142k the one out of my Comanche looked like trash and it only had 134k

'94 or '95 I believe is the last year they did that back temp sensor. Guy said it was a strong motor and only pulled it because the jeep was too rotted to drive and parted it out. Gonna regasket it anyways
