We went Junkyarding for a new HVAC unit for my little 93, but found a 2000 XJ that just landed with mirrors in great shape. So now I will have late model power mirrors
Unfortunately the 95 we went to look at for said HVAC unit, someone destroyed it going after the blower motor

That would be great. Thank you. They did mention that the oil does use sodium as an additive around this level though, Napa 5W-30 conventional, and might explain the higher reading but..........

The shifts are super clean. My stock linkage always felt like it had a return spring on it. It felt like it was fighting against me and wanted to return the shift level forward. Not anymore, clean and crisp. It is probably one of my favorite mods so far.
I did not remove the brackets. Once you get under there, you see where the new linkage will run. It's a good distance from any of the old brackets. And they will most likely not impede it's function. If someone was super ****, they may remove them. Removing them won't give you any noticeable benefit other than the warm and fuzzies of them not being there.
Hope the install goes well. Get a big flat head ready. Prying apart the factory linkage was probably one of the more time consuming parts.
Tonight, I may start to look into why my part-time light doesn't come on when you're in 4x4. I'll start by jumping out the wiring harness at the TC to see if the light illuminates. If so, I will have to remove the switch then clean or replace it.

Right-o. I'll check out your build. I might remove my bracketry just because it's rusty and the body isn't. No point in letting it spread...
You see the simplicity of this linkage and wonder what Jeep was thinking with all that mess. I realize it allows the use of the same cable setup on multiple vehicles with different distances from shift to TC, but still...

These actually aren't cable shifters (at least all of the jeep xjs I've seen) also? I don't believe tjs we're or at least for all years because I know a friend of mine did a flat belly on his tj and had to adapt a different linkage to work. Cable driven ones would actually be an upgrade from the stock rods and crap.
That's right... I've been working on too many things lately and got confused. Rusty, rickety rods. lol
There is one advantage to removing the brackets and the main reason I went with the boostwerks linkage. It makes it a lot easier to get a wrench or your fingers or anything on the nuts for the t case mounting studs. On my second or third time taking it out I got fed up with the bracket and took it all out.
