Well damn. Don't feel bad... You have no clue how many dreams a tape measure has crushed for me over the years. lol

It's when realty comes into play.

There is no doubt that I could make it work. But I would be left with 2 options. Put the engine farther up then I want or redo half the car. I dont like either of those options at the moment. Oh and then I found out the trans would have to be pieced together to get the shifter in the right spot. So no thanks. Maybe on the next project car.

Yep, that happens sometimes. Sometimes you just have to regroup. I already have a feeling this is what will happen to my "cherovan" idea. I haven't had the chance to do the measuring yet, but I think the measuring tape is going to slap me down once again. But I'm still going to do the research and try.

Well i tired to get the Jeep smogged yesterday and had a pretty bad time. Went to 3 different places. First place, I stood in the office for 10 min and no one helped me. So I walked out. Drove to the other place down the street and they were closed. Then went to a gas station smog place and they said they dont smog after 5pm. I was there at 515. Might try again this morning. But the Jeep is looking good and going up for sale next week.

It does look good... That's the problem with trying to do a smog after work if you did? I always had to take a day off to go get it done. Used to bug me, I should not have had to do this. DMV stuff too.

I did happen to go after work but I got off at 330. Another but, I had to go home to grab the Jeep (which required me to move 3 other vehicles) and then back down to the smog place. So I ended up at the first smog place around 430. Most likely, I will take the Jeep in tomorrow morning or Friday morning before I go to work and hope for the best. If not, they are open Saturday morning. I was hoping to put it up for sale before this weekend but I want to make sure it passes before I put it up for sale.

4:30... Very few anymore have the work ethics we do man.

This happens because of owner and management "no overtime" policies.

I know what you mean. We will see what the next couple of days bring. Hopefully an all clear from the smog place! And then a quick bye bye to the Jeep.

You know the sad thing is I haven't even put the new cats on and it still passed. Check engine light has been off for almost 100 miles and I dont even have my temporary fix installed (keeps the light from coming on). Did it fix itself? The light normally pops on in 40-50 miles.

Sounds like a possible bad wire somewhere on the way there.

I don't know. Maybe. Possibly. You know Jeeps... when I log the o2 sensor, the graph looks fine until about 2000 rpms. Then it gets inconsistent. I haven't checked it in the past 100 miles but I am curious to see how it reads now.

A side note - I did change my oil about 200 miles ago. The original oil was loaded (I really mean loaded) with zinc for cam break in. Way too much Zinc and cats do not go good together. Possibility?
