Quote: That's a solid deal but too bad it is 2wd lol. Still a nice rig and will suit your needs.
Nah, I wanted 2wd. A v8 full size is bad enough on gas without the addition of 4wd. Plus, it has ECT and a posi in the rear so, whatever "off-road" action this will see won't be "extreme" enough to warrant anything more than that.

So basically this is just going to be the family grocery getter and occasional tow-pig.

I get it everyone has their own purposes and 4wd is not always needed.

New fuel pump/sending unit and driver's side rear caliper came in. Not really any point in installing them though... had to steal the battery from it and put it in the car

Looks good but you should have at least painted those castle nuts!

Nope. Rusty's. Got it for free from a friend at work about a year ago.

I have new castle nuts for it. The rusty ones that are on it were just close at hand.

Finally installed my steering this past weekend. Would've posted sooner but was really busy.

Absolutely love it. The steering is more responsive and definitely a lot tighter. No bump steer and no drag-link roll. Definitely have to make sure you hulk down the castle nuts to be able to get the cotter pins, but it just makes the setup all the more tight.

Looks good! Those the tires you had mounted a year or so ago; looks like they're wearing well.

Not quite that long ago. Got them in August. They are definitely wearing well though. They ride great.

August? Is that all the longer it's been? My memory clearly isn't what it used to be. Lol! Glad you're getting some good use out of them. Tires are so damn expensive.

Yup - about 4 months shy of a year. Driving them about 23 miles a day back and forth to work, and however many miles on errands and whatnot, so they're definitely gettin' the miles put on them. I'm really really impressed with them though. Heck, I'd buy another set.

Went wheeling in another local spot today. First time out at this one.

Didn't get to do as much wheeling as I wanted to because the first part of the morning was spent clearing trails from last year's hurricane activity. I had to leave around 1130 so I could get home and get some sleep for night shift, so I only got to go down a few trails.

The Hooptie did great though. Moment of pride for me was walking up a really technical lime rock section that the hacked up yellow XJ also walked through (it has lincoln locked d44/d30 axles and 35s), meanwhile the rest of the Jeep pack behind me struggled to find the right lines and had to make multiple attempts.

This wasn't all the Jeeps that turned out for the ride, but this is the XJ/MJ pack that showed up. There's another XJ off screen with a full roof chop and an interior/exo cage combo. Normally that's a dominator too, but he's been having fuel/spark issues.

Bunch of beasts.
