Haha well, she doesn't ride much in the Jeep but looking back I would of preferred to do the driver's side first too. Idea I had was that the passenger side not having the tunnel in the way would make it easier and we could get both done in one day. Didn't expect it to take as long (same old story) and didn't pick up a pack of cutting disks prior to starting.

Never goes as planned. The story of DIY.
But the fun, and saying you did it yourself makes it all worth it. I would not have it any other way.

I really dig the seats though, pretty sure I said that once but..... I am looking for some now. Thanks for the inspiration.

You're welcome! I couldn't do it without Oldblue#2 though. But we like to fab together and get it done. Makes it a lot more open to doing what you want vs looking for companies to come out with their own versions that costs a lot more

Picked up a set of manual 2 door doors! Half doors and primary doors converted to manual regulators coming up! These doors outside some mud on the side are clean, he even cut the body hinge part off so the door hinges are still good.

Haha he posted it and within 10 minutes I was on my way over to his place. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to make a template out of cardboard and cut them out of a piece of sheet. These are 10g if I recall, between 1/8" and 3/16"

Have to think the uniframe is just 1/8" or so thick so can't properly weld to it with much thicker metal. There are a few companies that make 1/4" stiffeners but I think HD Offorad's stiffeners are the perfect thickness.

True and I never really knew the thickness of the uniframe rails.

Finally got the driver's RX8 seat in. What a difference on the road. It's weird having full support from your thighs to full back. Looking forward to seeing how they do on the rocks compared to the beat up originals.
