Always put 3" lifts on all my 4X4's. Put a Buick V6 in my CJ2A. That was a piece of cake. Just had to have the motor mounts welded in. Thing was back then you just let it be known that you had beer. Everybody shows up. All varying degrees of mechanical ability. Granted it would 3 times as long to get anything done. LOL.
I highly recommend being part of the process. It's like riding a bike, do it once and it's a piece of cake from then on. The best thing is you learn exactly what each piece looks like and and how it functions in there.

I have a very good friend who dropped a GM V6 in a CJ2A. He also cut and lengthened the frame and body because his legs were too long to fit in the Jeep. I was heart broken when he was forced to sell it, it was a nice rig.

I was 16 when we did mine. 5.38's front and rear. Maybe 60 MPH was top speed. Wish I had some pictures still. 3" lift, 1" body lift, double shocked all around, Runck bumpers and nerf bars, winch, full roll cage, Warn Hubs, dual batteries and oil filters, 3 gas tanks (think I could carry as much as 40 gallons not including the Jerry cans), axle trusses, upgraded from 9" drums to 11" drums, 31" Tru Tracs, with some white spoke wheels. Probably forgetting a couple things. She could almost go anywhere. I used to drive in 2 wheel drive till I got stuck and then put her in 4 wheel drive. Pull right out of anything I did. That was when I used to actually wheel my 4X4's. Now I just want a DD and be able to get around in the snow if I have to.

I got it all buttoned up, finished breaking the cam in and took it down to the gas station for its first official trip with the new engine. No issues until after I put gas in it and went to fire it up. Forgot to tighten the negitive post.... After a quick jiggle, it fired right back up. Might have a power steering leak and trans is acting funny at times. Will check it out tomorrow. No engine leaks though!

Only in SoCal can you get away with a heater core bypass in the dead of winter... lol

So far this year you'd be able to get away with it up here at almost 7,000 feet in Colorado...

I was even driving with the windows down last night! The wind has been here since Friday and it brings nice warm air.

I am going to connect the heater to see if the core leaks or not. Hopefully it just needs a flush and all will be good.

I wasn't saying it should be hooked up... Just making note about how convenient not really needing to hook it up is. Lol
