So I figured out how to stop the stock fog lights from going off when the high beams are on. It was simply cutting one of the two green wires going into the high beam switch on the steering column, (it's real hit or miss because they are exactly the same colored wire. It's like defusing a non existent bomb and hoping that you cut the right wire. I didn't the first try and so I had to splice it back together. I can do a mini write up if people are curious). I want to temporarily hook up that green wire to the fuse box (temporarily because I plan on installing a 300w light harness because I want to swap in two of these 130w KC H3 bulb I found on Amazon. I want the light but I don't want to look like a mallcrawler with a light bar before I even have a lift). I won't install the 130w bulbs until I upgrade the harness. Also, what do you call those plugs that go into the single pin slots in the fuse box? I want to take advantage of the ACC slots in the fuse box.
Also, while you guys are here, I want to reapply the reflective paint in the fog lights because it's all flakey and there's a lot of surface rust. I have a wire brush and a buffing wheel I use to do flat tire repairs at work so I can use that to remove the old paint and rust. But what paint should I use as the new finish? I heard chrome isn't the best, but silver metallic or something like that. But it needs to withstand the heat of 130w bulbs eventually. Should I use a primer first? I assume white primer if so. And as for the gasket for the glass lens, how should I clean the rust residue off of that? And how should I stick it back on?
Sorry not being the most organized writer, ADD is killer when it comes to explaining Jeep stuff for me hahaha
