It's coming along. Getting more extreme as I go along.
I need sliders, bumpers, a winch, some lights, a frame re-enforcement kit, and to win the lottery.

I am definitely smitten in the way it looks though, started as a mess but finally getting everything dialed in

Very tempting. I have too many Jeep parts in my garage as it is, but having a spare set of 5 Gamblers would be pretty cool.

Do I recall you mentioning something about a different spare tire carrier? That looks like the OEM XJ carrier, but I thought I remembered you saying something about a carrier from a bronco or some other vehicle.

The offer stands. If not, I'm sure I can find a fellow XJer in need somewhere. Lol!

Yeah, I'd like a set of 33's for mine as well. I gotta wait until after my summer vacation though. Hope my driver's front can hold out that long.

I gotta figure something out. 31s scrub when full flexing and I don't want to have too much bumpstop.

Bumpstop is not a bad thing. Remember, bumpstop will limit UPTRAVEL with the added benefit of more DOWNTRAVEL on the opposite side of the axel... it's the fulcrum and lever effect. You just have to make sure you have long enough shocks and brake lines to compensate for the additional travel on the other side.

PLUS, since you're talking about 33's, you'll need additional bumpstop anyway.

I have like 4 or 5 inches of uptravel as it is and I max out 12" travel shocks in the droop on the front and 10" travel shocks in the rear... I don't want to be driving down the road with 2 or 3 inches of uptravel I feel I'd be hitting them all the time. Not sure if I should stick with 31s and bumpstop a touch more, fender flares and 33s or bumpstop a ton and 33s.

I dunno man, that seems kinda odd that you're running 31" tires w/ 4.5" of lift and rubbing. I'm probably not gonna be much help in that arena though.... my fenders are trimmed, I have a 3.5" lift, 32" tires, and 4" bumpstops w/ the rubber snubber missing on both sides. Good rule of thumb, I guess you could say though is to add bumpstops equal to the amount of lift you have. Gotta figure the bumpstops were set up from the factory so in order to get back to the bumpstops functioning properly with 4.5" of lift, you need AT LEAST 4" of additional bumpstop.

This is the best picture I could find... but the upper bumpstop cups are being hidden by my swaybar.

As you can see though, plenty of travel. I don't think I've ever hit the stops during normal road driving.
