Yes, I'm loving the white wheels...but now that I see them, I think they'll probably look better on the older body style. They have a 70-80's look to them (for me.)
I'll get a boxy cherokee, put white wheels on it and big balloon tires - I'll look like I'm ready to hit the dunes in 1987!
HAHA I know what your saying. I think i'm going to aluminum wheels to save some weight.

Wrangler Wheels
I'm really leaning towards this look. I LOVE these wheels on the Cherokee. And I'll need tires soon anyways. It looks like I can get a set of wheels/tires for cheaper than buying new tires for this bad boy.
I found a set near me for $300, a set for $400. Lemme pass my e-check tonight so I can get real license plates - then we'll see about spending any more money on this hulk.

You'll definitely notice the weight difference. I have 32" MTs on 15x8 Ultra Gauntlents and they're quite a bit lighter than the 31" MTs on 15x8 Pacer D-windows that I did have. They absorb impacts from bumps and potholes better too.

are those 17's? that looks awesome actually. you would have to run spacers. right?
how is the weight compared to a steel 15 and an aluminum 15?

That's a good question - I don't know what the hell size they are. Yes, I believe I'll have to run spacers/adapters to both fit the things under the Cherokee and to adapt to the correct bolt pattern: Cherokee is 5 x 4.5 and Wrangler is 5 x 5.
(I think.)
Yes, those are 17" wheels... I believe they are 8" wide. They are a 5on5 bolt pattern so you have to run adapters to use them on an XJ.
However, there is a 16" version of the wheels that came on the TJ rubicons (they're called Moabs) that are a 16x8 with a 5 on 4.5 pattern just like XJs that you can run without spacers or adapters.
I'm not sure about the weight difference exactly, but I want to say it's a good 10-15 lbs difference in a 15" steel vs. 15" al depending on the wheel.
ETA:
I just did a comparison between the Cragar Black D-Window 15x8 Steel wheel and the Ultra Wheels Gauntlet 15x8 and the difference is only about 5 lbs.

So I went to the self-service E-check kiosk last night and aced it!
Ohio E-check Self Service Kiosk (open 24/7, I went at 11:42pm)
PASS
And I broke my damn hood guard! I passed the test, and I'm like, "Yes! Photo time!" As I walk around the Jeep to take the shot shown above, my coat catches on the hood guard and snaps the edge off of it.
So, do I leave the broken hood guard on, to sortof match the rest of the Jeep, or do I remove it? Decisions, decisions, decisions...
Broken Hood Guard (formerly the only "nice" thing on the Jeep)
